Q&E: Collaborating on a Musical Starry Night
Musician and producer Phil Thompson, ’07 BSB, joined the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies (GTCYS) and the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit Minneapolis on a tribute video celebrating the GTCYS’s 50th anniversary. 2022 DePodesta Fellows Named
Three new fellows are joining the John DePodesta Leadership Fellowship program. The program provides graduate students in business, public policy, sociology, or education the opportunity to co-design or launch a new venture in partnership with existing educational organizations that seek to improve the quality of postsecondary education.

Bringing ‘Joy’ to Entrepreneurship
Inspired by their family’s West African roots, Perteet Spencer, ’06 MBA, and Fred Spencer, ’08 MBA, launched AYO Foods in 2019. The frozen meals crafted from food of 17 different countries are diversifying offerings in the grocery store aisles in retailers across the country. AYO, means “joy” in Yoruba, one of the many languages spoken in West Africa.
A Poet Among Quants
When he’s not helping business analytics students communicate about big data and other technical topics, Lee Thomas is writing poetry. In fact, he recently published his first poetry book, Honey in the Dark. The book is a collection of stories that explore the many possibilities one might experience in their life.
