Professor, Curtis L. Carlson Trust Professor of Marketing

Rohini Ahluwalia is the Curtis L. Carlson Trust Professor of Marketing at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. She is well-known for her expertise in consumer psychology. Ahluwalia’s research is primarily focused in the areas of persuasion, branding and decision making.

Mark Bergen
Professor, James D. Watkins Chair in Marketing

Mark E. Bergen is the James D. Watkins Chair in Marketing at the Carlson School of Management. Bergen's research focuses on pricing and channels of distribution, where he has studied issues such as pricing as a strategic capability, price wars, pricing as truces, pass-through, branded variants, dual distribution, gray markets, co-op advertising, and quick response.

Haitao (Tony) Cui
Professor | Ecolab-Pierson M. Grieve Chair in International Marketing

Haitao (Tony) Cui, Deputy Associate Dean for Global DBA Program, Ecolab-Pierson M. Grieve Chair in International Marketing, Professor of Marketing at the Carlson School, Inaugural Marketing Science Institute (MSI) Scholar, joined the faculty of the Carlson School of Management in 2005 after earning his Ph.D.

Associate Dean of the Undergraduate Program

Vladas Griskevicius serves as the Associate Dean of the Undergraduate Program at the Carlson School and is the Carlson Family Foundation Chaired Professor of Marketing.

William Hedgcock
Associate Professor

William Hedgcock is an Associate Professor in the Marketing Department at the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management. His teaching and research focuses on consumer behavior and the neuroscience of choice.

Deborah Roedder John
Professor, Curtis L. Carlson Chair in Marketing

Deborah Roedder John is the Curtis L. Carlson Chair and Professor of Marketing at the Carlson School of Management. She received her Ph.D. in Marketing from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. She is an expert in consumer behavior and specializes in two main areas: (1) consumer responses to brands and brand strategies; and (2) children's consumer behavior.

George John
Professor, General Mills/Paul S Gerot Chair in Marketing

Professor John received his bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India  and his MBA from the University of Illinois. After earning his Ph.D. in Marketing from Northwestern, he joined the faculty at the University of Wisconsin before moving to Minnesota.

Byungyeon Kim is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Byungyeon's research focuses on sales management, specifically in the domains of personal selling and business-to-business marketing.

Irene Nahm
Assistant Professor
Irene Nahm is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Irene’s research focuses on applying a wide array of empirical methods to answer important managerial problems in the area of sales force management and multichannel strategy in business-to-business (B2B) markets.
Akshay Rao
Professor, General Mills Chair in Marketing

Akshay R. Rao holds the General Mills Chair in Marketing at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota.  He has an undergraduate honors degree in Economics from Madras University (India), a Masters in Business Administration from XLRI (India), and a PhD in Marketing from Virginia Tech. In 2011, he was honored as a “Distinguished Alumnus” by XLRI (India).

Joe Redden
Professor, Curtis L. Carlson Chair in Marketing Analytics

Joseph P. Redden is a Professor of Marketing at the Carlson School of Management. He received his Ph. D. in Marketing from the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania; MBA from the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University; and BBA Accounting, BS Computer Science from the University of Kentucky.

Kathleen Vohs, Distinguished McKnight University Professor and Land O'Lakes Chair in Marketing, works to understand and communicate the basics of how people think, feel, and behave in order to make sense of marketplace and organizational outcomes. 
Alison Jing Xu
Associate Professor, Mary and Jim Lawrence Fellow
 Alison Jing Xu holds a PHD in Marketing from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research takes the consumer psychology approach to examine how mind-sets, decision processes, retail environments, human sensory inputs, and technology advancements influence consumer and manager decision making.
Linli Xu
Associate Professor

Linli Xu joined the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota in 2012 after receiving her PhD from the University of Southern California (USC). Her research interests focus on the advertising and digital platforms and specialize in the automotive markets.

Yi Zhu
Margaret J. Holden and Dorothy A. Werlich Endowed Professor

Yi Zhu is an Associate Professor of Marketing, Margaret J. Holden and Dorothy A. Werlich Endowed Professor at the University of Minnesota. He received his PhD in Business Administration from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2013. He worked as a consultant at Shanghai Investment Consulting Corporation before he went to Vancouver, where he received his M.A.

Wendy Lutter
Senior Lecturer, Academic Director: Master of Marketing

Wendy has been teaching at Carlson since 2016 and feels like this was the job she was always meant to have. Her favorite part is the students. She is a senior lecturer and teaches Marketing Research, Marketing Management, Brand Strategy, Advertising and Promotion, Customer Experience Management at the undergraduate, Master and MBA levels.

Allison Murn teaches Marketing at the Carlson School of Management and leverages her expertise in Marketing to develop the next generation of marketers and general managers. Her corporate, entrepreneurial and consulting experiences have enabled her to teach a variety of courses to both MBA and undergraduate students.
Corey Nelson
Senior Lecturer
Corey Nelson is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the Carlson School of Management. He received a degree in Business Administration from the University of North Dakota before moving to live and work in Seoul, South Korea for fourteen years. While living in Korea he graduated from the Syracuse University Asian program at Sejong University in Seoul.

Ibrahim Keita, Ph.D. is a development economist. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Computational Mathematics and in Economics from Arizona State University and a Master’s degree in Economics from Duke University. He received his doctorate degree in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota.

Barbara Loken is Professor Emeritus of Marketing at the Carlson School, University of Minnesota. She also served as Adjunct Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychology, University of Minnesota. She is an expert in the fields of brand management, health promotion, and consumer psychology.

Professor Emeritus

Joan Meyers-Levy, the Holden-Werlich School-Wide Professor of Marketing at the Carlson School, examines in her research a variety of consumer behavior issues related to visual and verbal communication, memory, information processing, and gender, as well as individual differences.

Kenneth Roering

Kenneth J. Roering is a Professor-Emeritus in the Carlson School of Management of the University of Minnesota. He occupied the Pillsbury Company-Paul S. Gerot Chair in Marketing from 1982-2004.  He served as Chairman of the Marketing Department at the University of Minnesota.
