Merit-Based Scholarships

Students applying for September 2026 will be automatically considered for all scholarships they are eligible for. Early career professionals with analytical skills are encouraged to apply. Qualified applicants should demonstrate a capacity for intense academic study, a propensity for mathematics and programming, and a basic understanding of business fundamentals.

Applying for Scholarships

The MS in Business Analytics admissions committee will automatically consider program applicants for merit scholarships; no special application is required. Scholarship awards are announced at the same time as final admissions decision letters are released.

Key Dates and Deadlines

Plan ahead with these critical MSBA application deadlines.

  • November 1 
    Decision notification: Monday, December 30
  • January 15 
    Decision notification: Monday, March 16
  • March 15 - final application deadline for international applicants who are currently living outside the United States
    Decision notification: Friday, April 24
  • May 15 - final application deadline for international applicants who are currently living in the United States
    Decision notification: Monday, June 8
  • June 15 - Domestic Students only
    Decision notification: Tuesday, July 7

Carlson scholarships and discounts are not transferable to other degree programs and may not be "stacked" with other University of Minnesota/Carlson scholarships, discounts, or reduced tuition programs such as Regents Tuition Benefit Program or Senior Citizen Education Program (SCEP).
