Part-Time MBA Curriculum

The Carlson Part-Time MBA program provides a relevant, rich, and rigorous academic experience. Divided between required core courses and electives—nearly 100 in all—the curriculum imparts a broad understanding of the entire business enterprise. In addition to required courses, you will customize your electives to explore specific aspects of business in greater depth to become more skilled in the subjects that are important to you.

What you'll learn

To help you envision your path to an MBA, we've mapped out three of the most common degree completion timelines. These are three examples of possible approaches to completing your MBA degree. You have the power to complete your degree on your timeline, with limited in-person coursework, or with a specialization that matches your career goals. The flexibility offered by the Carlson School empowers students to map degree paths that are as individual as they are.

2.5 years: If finishing your degree in as little time as possible is your goal - you can complete the program as quickly as two and a half years.

Program Highlights

How you'll learn

We offer several different course formats within our traditional fall, spring, and summer semesters. Most of the classes are offered on campus in the evening during the week or online offering you the flexibility to build classes into your busy schedule. Select condensed all-day elective classes – offered on three Fridays or Saturdays – amplify your experience engaging with peers and faculty. You can spend less time traveling to and from school by taking most of your courses online and in condensed formats. If limiting your time on campus, minimizing your commute, and maintaining geographic flexibility is part of what you are looking for in a program, online and condensed format courses will support completing your degree on your terms.
