Gary S. Holmes Center for Entrepreneurship Academics
The Holmes Center leads the development of experiential curriculum that differentiates the Carlson School and provides transformative learning experiences. Entrepreneurship courses are offered to students at all levels in all colleges across the University, ranging from introductory concepts on innovation to in-depth application of entrepreneurship principles. Coursework takes advantage of the school's location in the heart of the Twin Cities to regularly feature external speakers and applied projects.
Undergraduate
A core set of entrepreneurship and innovation courses are supplemented by unique experiential courses in which students have the opportunity to conceive, launch and operate real businesses. International versions of several courses include travel to developing countries to understand their culture and unique approaches to entrepreneurship and innovation. Students are able to sample a small number of courses or explore a broad range of electives from across the University.
Graduate
A core set of entrepreneurship and innovation courses are supplemented by unique experiential courses in which students have the opportunity to conceive, launch and operate real businesses. Students have the opportunity to participate in multi-disciplinary courses that work on applied projects to analyze and design new products and businesses.
Faculty
Entrepreneurship courses are taught by a combination of academic researchers and experienced practitioners. Students receive a rich blend of current theoretical frameworks along with practical guidance to inspire, connect and educate the next generation of entrepreneurs.
