Undergraduate Immersion Core
Please note: Immersion Core (I-Core) will be phased out beginning in Academic Year 2023-24. First-year students enrolled in Carlson before Fall 2022 and transfer students enrolled in Carlson before Fall 2023 will be required to take Immersion Core courses.*
*Some exceptions may apply during the transition period in Fall 2023.
The Immersion Core (I-Core) is a set of four courses, taken in a block schedule with the same group of students for the entire semester. This experience is typically taken during your sophomore year and provides an opportunity for immersion into foundation business courses early. You will begin to learn how business works cross-functionally as your professors work together to design lessons that highlight the important relationships among finance, marketing, operations, and strategy. You’ll also learn how to work in teams and develop your leadership skills through interactions with your classmates.
The four courses that make up the Immersion Core are:
- FINA 3001: Finance Fundamentals
- MGMT 3004: Business Strategy
- MKTG 3001: Principles of Marketing
- SCO 3001: Supply Chain & Operations
