Part-Time MBA Admission Prerequisites
A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in the U.S. or a comparable degree from an officially recognized college or university outside of the U.S.
2 years of work experience; this can include internships, co-ops, graduate assistantships, and other work experiences.

Being well-informed about the process is essential when applying for the Part-Time MBA program. Below is a quick glance at what you can expect as part of the application process.
The Carlson School Part-Time MBA program offers a streamlined online application. The following materials are required to apply:
- Personal statement essay
- Proof of English language proficiency**
- Two years of full-time work experience
- Two professional recommendations
- Video Essay
- Current resume
*The Carlson School of Management's Part Time MBA program’s application is now GRE/GMAT test score optional, for candidates applying for consideration for Spring 2024 or later entry; please see the admission requirements page for more details.

All applicants will receive an admissions decision via the application portal. All admitted candidates will receive additional information through email and the application portal.
Part-Time MBA applicants will receive their admission decision within 10 business days of the admission committee receiving a submitted and completed application. Completed and submitted application requires that all materials have been received by the admissions committee; this includes transcripts, resumes, personal statement, and recommendations. You will receive communication from the admission committee when your application has been received and marked as complete.

Military veterans can count on dedicated Carlson School and University of Minnesota personnel to help them every step of the way through the Carlson MBA Program.
- Veterans attending the University of Minnesota will be assessed resident tuition rates for their degrees. The resident tuition waiver will be automatic for veterans with a DD-214 on file that receives educational benefits.
- Military veterans admitted to our Part-Time MBA program with demonstrated financial need and academic merit may be eligible for scholarship funding. Learn more about scholarship opportunities.
