Lingnan College

Lingnan College (of Sun Yat-sen University) is one of the leading schools of economics and business in China. Lingnan's motto is Education for Service. The college is renowned in China for its high-quality programs, excellent faculty board and its global vision. Currently the college offers programs in economics and finance ranging from undergraduate to the master’s and PhD levels. It also provides a specialized master's program in international finance business and insurance. All of these programs are among the most competitive in China and are considered the best ones in South China. In 2016, the Master of Finance program was ranked globally in the Financial Times ranking. The College currently has 77 full-time faculty members and continuously strives for academic excellence. Faculty members carry out rigorous and original research, with particular focus on China's ongoing economic development, by publishing in top-tier international and national research journals.

LU Xiaodong

Professor of Economics & Associate Dean - Lingnan College, SYSU

Xiaodong LU is a professor of Economics at Lingnan College and a research fellow of the Institute of Transition and Open Economy of Sun Yat-sen University, as well as being a Visiting Professor at MIT Sloan School of Management in 2015. He is currently the Associate Dean of Lingnan College, Vice President of FTZ Research Institute. He earned his PH.D. in Economics from Nankai University in 2008.

Professor LU is mainly engaged in teaching and research in the fields of International Economics and Global Economy. In recent years, he has been focusing on issues such as “Geo-economics Fragmentation”, "Exporting and Investing Behavior of Firms", "Temporary Trade Barriers and Global Value Chain Reconstruction". He is also an expert in national and regional issues such as "Belt and Road", "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area", "Free Trade Zone Construction" and "Guangdong Enterprises Going Global". He has been invited to give lectures to governments, universities and research institutes on the above topics.

LIN Jiang

Professor & CHEMBA Co-Academic Director - Lingnan College, SYSU

Lin Jiang is a professor, doctoral tutor of Lingnan College in Sun Yat-sen University. He is the deputy director of Hong Kong, Macao and the Pearl River Delta Research Center of the University. He had been a Professor of the Finance department in Lingnan College, Director of Hong Kong and Macao Research Institute of Sun Yat-sen University, and Deputy Director of Hong Kong and Macao Research Center.

His research areas are International Financial Management, Theory of Taxation, Public Finance and Public Policy, Public Finance Theory and Practice, Regional Economics, Finance, Public Finance, Taxation and Venture Capital.

Susie (Shushu) Yu

Executive Director - CHEMBA

Susie Yu has 11 years working experience in a Polytechnic College, responsible for International Programs, including Chinese-Foreign Cooperation, exchange, and short-term programs before joining SYSU. She has worked with the CHEMBA program at Lingnan College since 2015, starting as an Academic Supervisor, and was promoted as Associate Director in 2019. She became CHEMBA's Executive Director in 2020.

Susie received her MBA (English instructed program) in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. She enjoys working with programs with a diversity of culture and empathy of understanding. The value of these programs is not only to communicate with different people from the world, but also to see and think about the world from a higher dimension and a broader perspective.

Jane Zheng

Jane (Yanwen) Zheng

Academic & Students Supervisor - CHEMBA

Jane Zheng received her BA from South China Normal University in Guangzhou, majoring in English. She was an administrator of the US meat export federation's Guangzhou office for more than 10 years,during which she had the training in Korean office and led the traders team to visit the US export companies in LA. 

In 2010 she began working at Lingnan college, SYSU in the academic department and corporation cooperation department for MBA programs, conducting the action learning programs such as China Seminar Project of Carlson, China Lab Project of MIT, and Project-Based Learning Project of Lingnan MBA. 

She joined the CHEMBA program in 2022.

Rachel (Jiamin) Ou

Assistant, Admission & Marketing - CHEMBA

Rachel Ou attained her master's degree at the University of Warwick in the UK, and her undergraduate degree from the University of Sheffield in the UK, with a major in educational leadership and management. Upon graduation, she joined Lingnan College of Sun Yat-sen University, undertaking responsibilities for international affairs, student semester exchanges, and others. She enrolled in the CHEMBA program in 2024. 

Rachel possesses numerous after-work pastimes, including playing the piano, engaging in Latin dance, and traveling extensively across the globe. She has visited a number of countries such as France, Italy, Turkey, and South Korea. She delights in encountering diverse individuals, experiencing cultural exchanges, and enhancing her comprehension of the world.
