We encourage candidates to explore all available options and apply early for scholarship consideration.
Discounts and Scholarships
Guaranteed early applicant Tuition Discount for Fall 2026. All qualified applicants whose applications are accepted will automatically receive a 15% tuition discount applied toward tuition. This discount does not cover any other fees or charges levied by the university. To qualify for this discount, your completed application must be received by midnight, April 15, 2026, US Central Time. Apply now.
Merit-based scholarships. A limited number of scholarships that receive a 15% or 50% tuition discount are available to qualified applicants. These scholarships require you to write an additional essay on a prompt provided by the admissions team. If you receive a merit-based scholarship, you will receive a notification along with your admission letter.
Qualifications for Merit-based scholarship and early applicant discounts. To qualify for the discounts, you must be a US citizen or permanent resident. International students on F class of visas do not qualify for these discounts. Discounts and scholarships are not transferable to other degree programs and may not be "stacked" with other Carlson School or UMN offers.
UMN employees who are admitted to the MS SCM program are eligible for the Regents Tuition Benefit Program, which would take the place of the 15% discount.
Scholarships for the MSSCM Program
MSSCM applicants who are residing and authorized to work in the United States can be considered for 15% merit-based scholarships. Additionally, a limited number of 50% merit-based scholarships are also available.
U.S. military members/veterans and employees from our corporate partners are automatically eligible for a 15% tuition discount or are welcome to apply for a limited number of 50% merit-based scholarships.
MSSCM scholarships are not transferable to other degree programs and may not be "stacked" with other scholarships or discounts.
How to apply
Candidates are invited to submit an essay to be considered for one of the 15% or 50% merit-based scholarships. Scholarships will be awarded on a merit basis to a limited number of admitted candidates who demonstrate the potential to be exemplary contributors to the Carlson community and possess outstanding academic and professional achievements.
The scholarship essay is not required for admission to the program or for the military or corporate discount. However, an essay and two letters of recommendation are required to be considered for merit scholarships. The essay and letters of recommendation must be submitted within the application itself, as no late or alternative submission methods will be accepted.
Selected students will be notified of their award at the time of admission.
