Part-Time MBA Tuition & Aid

At Minnesota Carlson, the MBA Program provides an academic grounding, hands-on experience, and global connections that can translate into new opportunities and long-term career growth. The cost of your education is determined by the number of credits you need to graduate. 

Part-Time MBA tuition for 2026-2027 is $1,797 per credit for all students, whether you're continuing or newly entering the program. This rate does not vary by residency. The graduation requirement is 52 credits.

Tuition and fees: These figures do not reflect student fees, books, course materials, or other incidental costs such as parking. The Board of Regents sets tuition levels in July of each year. Rates are subject to yearly increases.

Financial Aid

Some employers offer reimbursement programs for employees who enroll in Carlson's MBA Program. To cover additional expenses, the University of Minnesota's office of student financial aid provides federal educational loan programs.

To apply for financial aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You may complete it anytime; the University will process the application after you have been admitted. The University of Minnesota FAFSA code is 003969.

Carlson Corporate Discount

Employees from partner companies will receive a tuition discount for the Part Time MBA. The discount will apply for the duration of their program as long as they remain employed at a corporate discount partner company. Your employment with a corporate partner will be verified at the time of enrollment. Inform us promptly of any changes in your employment status to ensure accurate verification.

Part-Time MBA Tuition & Aid FAQs

For 2026-2027, Part-Time MBA tuition is $1,797 per credit, the same rate for all students regardless of residency. At 52 required credits, tuition totals $93,444 at the current rate. University fees, books and course materials are additional, and the Board of Regents resets the per-credit rate each July, so your total depends on your pace and the rates in effect while you're enrolled. Yes. Applicants are considered for 15% and a limited number of 50% merit-based scholarships. To be considered, candidates should complete the optional scholarship essay in the online application. Outside of scholarships, a 15% tuition discount is also automatically available for U.S. military service members/veterans and employees of corporate partners (Discounts are not stackable with scholarships).

Prospective students should note that while union and non-union positions are available at the masters' level, graduate assistantships are not guaranteed or program-specific to the Part-Time Master of Business Administration. Availability varies by department and role, and part-time MBA students may apply but should not expect assistantships as a primary funding source.

Yes. Many students use a mix of employer tuition benefits, personal savings, federal loans (if eligible) and private loans. Employer support is highly encouraged.
