Justin Kershaw joined Cargill in 2012 and has held several roles in the organization. In 2015 he was appointed Corporate Vice President and CIO. Justin leads the Global IT function, which is responsible for all aspects of information technology, risk and security, common processes, data and digital technology across Cargill business enterprises and functions. He is an executive leader on the Process, Data and Technology committee and Cargill’s digital innovation accelerator board EDGE.

Justin's extensive experience includes previous roles at Eaton, W. L. Gore and Associates, Inc. (the makers of Gore-Tex), F. Schumacher, and General Electric’s Military and Data System’s Division. He serves on the Board of Atkore International (ATKR: NYSE) as well as the Information and Decision Science Strategic Advisory Board at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. Justin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Arun Chetty is senior director of information technology for Renewal by Andersen (RbA) and has responsibility for overall IT. He joined RbA in 2021. Prior to that he held several IT Leadership positions at Cummins, Click4care, International Decision Systems, and Firepond. Arun has extensive experience leading software product development and professional services organizations. He earned his Master of Software Engineering degree from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Madras University in India.

Soumya Sen is an associate professor in the Information & Decision Sciences department and director of research for MIS Research Center at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He received the B.E. (Hons.) in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from BITS-Pilani, India, in 2005, and both the M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical and Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008 and 2011, respectively, during which time he collaborated with faculties from both engineering and the Wharton Business School. He carried out his postdoctoral research at the Princeton University before joining the University of Minnesota. Soumya’s research takes a multi-disciplinary approach involving computer networks, economics, and human-computer interaction. His research interests are in Internet economics, communication systems, cybersecurity, and social networks.

Ryan Sougstad is a senior lecturer in the Department of Information & Decision Sciences at the University of Minnesota. Prior to joining the Carlson School faculty, he was an Associate Professor of Business Administration at Augustana University. Ryan also worked for the IBM Corporation in sales, marketing, and research. His current research interests center around IT investment management and visual data analytics. He has published in the Journal of Management Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, and the International Journal of Service Sciences. He holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas and a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.

 

Ravi Bapna

Dr. Ravi Bapna is the Curtis L. Carlson Chair in Business Analytics and Information Systems at the Carlson School of Management where he also serves as the Associate Dean for Executive Education and Academic Director of the Carlson Analytics Lab and the Analytics for Good Institute. He has been awarded the INFORMS ISS Distinguished Fellow award and the INFORMS ISS Inaugural Practical Impacts Award, and the Management Science best paper award in Information Systems for 2018. He was the founding director of the University of Minnesota’s Social Media and Business Analytics Collaborative (SOBACO).

Ravi teaches graduate students, executives, CIOs, and CMOs how to leverage analytics and the broader digital revolution for competitive advantage. His research investigates social media, social engagement, analytics, economics of information systems, trust and peer influence online, e-market design, grid computing, and the design of the IT organization. His work has been published in numerous journals, including Management Science, Informs Journal on Computing, Statistical Science, Information Systems Research, Journal of Retailing, MIS Quarterly, and Decision Sciences. His views have also been featured in the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Knowledge@Wharton and The Economic Times, among other outlets.

"The Value of Service Robots in Sales: Evidence from Retail Industry"

 

Dr. Jason Chan holds an interest towards research that has relevant business and policy insights on emerging phenomenon relating Internet platforms and social outcomes, in various areas including healthcare, crime, financial well-being, education, and labor economics. In his research, he adopts a variety of quantitative methods including econometric modeling, experiments and technical methods, to extract meaningful relationships that lie within datasets. His work has been published in top academic journals such as Information Systems Research, Management Science, and MIS Quarterly. His work has also been covered by prominent media outlets, including The Economist, The Washington Post, The Economic Times, NBC News, Newsweek, Forbes, The Daily Beast, and Market Watch.
