What has been your favorite part of the Twin Cities so far? What has made it such a great place to earn an MSBA?

The Twin Cities has something for everyone and it’s difficult to choose a favorite! For me, being surrounded by a community of considerate people who made my regular days end with a small smile would be one of the best parts.

From glorious museums to spectacular lake views, the Twin Cities made my graduate experience very rewarding—particularly on days when schoolwork became too overwhelming. The warmth of the Carlson School community ensured that I pushed myself to reach my ultimate potential while taking pauses to ensure that my heart was happy!

Since arriving or starting your program, what’s been your impression of business/data analytics opportunities in the Twin Cities?

The abundant opportunities in the Twin Cities was a pleasant surprise to me. There are a lot of companies in the Twin Cities for the field of data analytics. I got to network with alumni frequently as they have been working in the Twin Cities right after graduation.

What's surprised you the most about the Twin Cities area?

What surprised me the most about the Twin Cities area is its beauty and the relative lack of crowds, making for delightful day outings. Especially in the summers, the long days allow ample time to explore architectural marvels like the Foshay Observatory and charming cafes. The stunning sunset skies of the Twin Cities have left a lasting impression on me, adding to the area's warm and welcoming surprises.

What activities have you enjoyed doing in the Twin Cities?

Ice-skating, exploring cafes, attending plays performed by the University of Minnesota students.

Minnesota is known for its winters. How have you embraced the “Bold North”?

We were lucky to experience the mildest winter Minnesota has seen in a long long time. Which is why the snowy days were filled with wonder for me as they were very far and few in between. On the more chilly days, layering up and holding a cup of hot chocolate did it for me. Remember to layer up and embrace hot liquids and you shall be okay!
