About

Jon Ruppel has held a succession of human resources and business leadership positions during his 27-year career at 3M. During this time, he has had the opportunity to work in several of 3M’s plants, Business Units, Total Rewards, International, and lead Global Human Resources Business Operations, developing and executing Global HR Strategies spanning 3M operations serving as Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources Business operations. He has also served as President & General Manager, Industrial Mineral Products Division and recently as Senior Vice President, Value Acceleration addressing organization effectiveness and advancing 3M culture enterprise project.

Jon currently serves as Senior Vice President, Total Rewards and Services where he leads global strategy, design and governance for market-competitive employee pay, benefits, programs & services, as well as subject matter expertise in delivering HR technology, payroll, reporting, data analytics and HR M&A. These HR functions provide innovative and effective solutions to our customers while accelerating the 3M Corporate Priorities.

Jon earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and completed his graduate studies with a M.A. from Concordia University. He is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). Jon is also passionate about the future of children serving 10 years on the Board of Directors for the Greater Twin Cities Y.M.C.A. and chaired the HR Committee of the Board. Jon is an Advisory Council Member at the Carlson Global Institute, University of Minnesota.
