Biography
Seulmin Yang is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in Marketing at the Carlson School of Management. Prior to her doctoral studies, she earned a Master's degree in Statistics from the University of Chicago. Seulmin’s research primarily explores the impact of governmental and political actions on economic behaviors and social outcomes. Her work uniquely integrates aspects of government policy and political actions within the marketing discipline, providing valuable insights for the development of policies regarding sustainable product and strategies aimed at mitigating social conflicts. Her methodological approach combines structural modeling, following the Industrial Organization framework, with econometric techniques. She is adept at employing advanced statistical methods to analyze large datasets, utilizing both R and Python.
