Professor Zhang received her PhD of Accounting from Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota in 2007. Before joining Carlson as a tenured Associate Professor of Accounting in July 2018, she was a faculty member at Fisher College of Business, the Ohio State University. Her primary research interest includes security regulation, accounting rule making, corporate risk management behavior, and accounting for financial institutions. Her research has been published in multiple top tier accounting journals. She visited the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as a financial economist and participated in the SEC rule-making process during 2015-2016. Professor Zhang taught financial accounting and data analytics classes in the undergraduate program, master of accounting program, and doctoral seminars.
