Biography
Professor Zhang's primary research interest includes accounting and security regulation, corporate risk management, accounting for financial institutions, and consumer lending. Her research has been published in multiple top tier accounting journals including The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Review of Accounting Studies, and Contemporary Accounting Research. She received her PhD in Accounting from Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota in 2007. Before joining Carlson in July 2018, she was a faculty member at Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University. She visited the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as a financial economist and participated in the SEC rule-making process during 2015-2016. Professor Zhang taught financial accounting and data analytics classes in the undergraduate program, master of accounting program, and doctoral seminars.
