Step 1 -Respond to Offer

Log into our confirmation website to confirm your attendance in the Industry MBA program. You will need your University of Minnesota 7-digit student identification number and current preferred e-mail address (provided in your admissions letter).

If your plans change and you will not be joining us, please use this same confirmation website to update us on your situation. If you have questions about the process, or need additional time to make your decision, please contact Brian Jacobson, Admissions Manager, at 612-625-0727 or jacob083@umn.edu.

Step 2 -Activate your student account

You will use your U of M Internet ID to access your University e-mail account, student record, update addresses and access items on One Stop Student Services, including financial aid (student loan) information.

Your U of M Internet ID and 7 digit student identification number (student ID) is included in the admission materials you received.

Activate Your University Internet Account

You will need to initiate your Internet ID to activate your University Internet Account.  To initiate your account, you'll need your social security number, seven-digit student ID number, Internet ID and birth date. If you did not provide a social security number on your application, or if you don't have one, leave this field blank when setting up your account.

Please note, once activated, your University e-mail account is now the University's official means of communication with you. Be sure to check your University e-mail account regularly.

After submitting the initialization form, a screen displays with your Internet ID and password. Make note of your Internet ID and the password you created. You will be able to use this Internet ID and password to log into your University e-mail.

Step 3 - Complete your FAFSA

If you plan to apply for financial assistance (student loans), you must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The University of Minnesota's financial aid counselors at One Stop Student Services will not be able to discuss your financial aid options until your FAFSA is received.

You will need your tax information to complete your FAFSA. Federal financial aid for summer 2017 is based on the information in your 2016 tax return. The UMN school code is: 003969.

You will need to complete both the 2016-17 and the 2017-18 FAFSA forms. Loan eligibility for summer 2017 will be determined by the information you provide on the 2016-17 FAFSA; loan eligibility for fall 2017 and spring 2018 will be determined by the information you provide on the 2017-18 FAFSA.

The Financial Aid Status tool on the One Stop Student Services website provides personalized information on your financial aid progress. Contact One Stop Student Services for questions regarding financial aid or visit the Finances & Tuition page.

Step 4 - Orientation

The goals of orientation are to prepare students for academic success and to foster connections with classmates. Orientation is a required commitment for all students beginning the Industry MBA program and will take place Thursday, June 1st – Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 at the Carlson School of Management campus in Minneapolis, MN.

Your accommodation is included in tuition and has been pre-booked from Wednesday, May 31st – Saturday, June 3rd at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel which is located just 3 blocks from campus.

Students are responsible for making travel arrangements to Minneapolis and all students should arrive on May 31st since Orientation begins promptly at 8:00 am on Thursday, June 1st. The Orientation agenda will run throughout the day and evening on June 1st and 2nd. There will be an optional activity on the morning of Saturday, June 3rd which will conclude by 1:00 pm.

Confirmed students have access to MBA Resources on Moodle where a tentative Orientation agenda is available. Moodle is an e-learning website.
