What counts towards our Class Gift?

All gifts, pledges, matching gifts and newly documented planned gifts made to any Carlson School fund, department, or program between July 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020 will be counted towards our Class Gift. Ways to give:

A one-time gift in honor of our reunion is a great way to commemorate our Carlson experience and all that you have achieved since graduation.  An area of particular emphasis is the Dean’s Excellence Fund, which gives Carlson the flexibility to support its core priorities such as scholarships, experiential learning, and retaining its world class faculty.

Establishing a recurring monthly gift is a simple, sustainable, and convenient way to maximize your impact on the current students, faculty, and staff of Carlson.  Over the course of a year, your budget friendly monthly gift adds up and you can direct it to any fund, department, or program.

Maximize your donation with a company match. Many organizations encourage the philanthropy of their employees by offering additional funds to match individual donations.  Any matching funds for one-time and monthly gifts received before June 30 will count towards our Class Gift.

Commit to a five-year pledge.  Many alumni choose to honor reunion by establishing a five-year pledge that will last until our next reunion celebration.  For many, this represents an opportunity to give at a higher level for the first time or to make a “stretch” gift as we mark your graduation milestone.  For making this special commitment, you will be recognized for the sum total of your five year pledge during our reunion year. You may make your five year pledge using this form.

Create a legacy with an estate or planned gift. Charitable bequests and other planned gifts are the source of some of the Carlson School's most transformational gifts. You can make a planned gift by including Carlson in your will or trust, or by designating us a the beneficiary of your retirement plan, life insurance policy, or other account. In addition to Class Gift recognition, you will also be welcomed into the University of Minnesota's President's Club Heritage Society. You can inform Carlson of your gift here. To learn more, contact Susan Hommes at 612-624-8800 or shommes@umn.edu

If you have any questions about giving or the technical aspects of making your donation, please contact Ryan Stewart at rstewar@umn.edu
