Summer Memories

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

Minnesota summers are far too short, yet we somehow manage to fill them with so many memories.

What did I do this summer? Apart from learning about the school, finishing up research papers, and attending an amazing alumni event - the 14th Annual Carlson Day at the Races last Friday - hosted by Curt Sampson (BSB '55) where we had 2,000 alumni and friends attending (see picture below), I took some time off for personal stuff (you may have noticed a gap in my blogging).

Okay, it wasn't exactly "stuff." The big event of my summer was our son Sage's wedding celebrations in Hyderabad, India. If you've never been to an Indian wedding, you might find this blog post on the wedding by a friend of Sage and Bethany's interesting (it is a commentary with lots of pictures).

I'd love to hear what others have done since the school year ended in May. Hopefully, you've had great internships, productive research time, and at least some time to just "stand and stare"...
