About
Jodell Swenson, ’93, graduated from the full-time MA-IR program and is currently the HR Director for Minnesota Housing, a State agency that finances and funds affordable housing. She spent the first 20+ years of her career in the private sector, including GE Water, GE Healthcare, Case Corp. and Weyerhaeuser, and is thrilled to spending this chapter of her career in a mission-focused organization. Swenson decided to join the Alumni Board to give back to the program. "By earning my (at the time) MA-IR at the U, I built a solid foundation for my HR career," she says. I now want to give back to the U by providing my time and energy to support the program." Her advice to current students is "learn as much as you can about your business. Your HR recommendations and activities will be an integral part of the business, and speaking the language of the business and understanding the business cycles will increase your credibility."
