Chris Carlson, '17, is a Talent Consultant at U.S. Bank, and had previously worked in HR at the University of Minnesota. Chris was a late joiner to HR, as he had been in Operations Management at Wells Fargo, and a General Manager at multiple restaurants for over a dozen years prior to joining the MA-HRIR program at the University of Minnesota.
Chris found himself seeking to excel in employee relations and having a knack for coaching, development, and performance management. "Joining the MA-HRIR program in 2014 was a life-changing experience. The part-time program was rich with students with relatable working backgrounds, and not only could I network with classmates, but learn the HR roles many were in currently, and what they were looking to do in the future. The faculty and staff are consistently warm, welcoming, and intellectually stimulating. I would recommend this program to anyone pursuing greater education in HR!"
