Thursday, June 22, 2023

Carlson School Dean Sri Zaheer has two new appointments with international organizations and a local appointment that will keep her plenty busy following her return to the faculty on July 3, 2023.

Zaheer, who has been dean since 2012 and holds the Elmer L. Andersen Chair in Global Corporate Social Responsibility, is Vice President-Program elect for the Academy of International Business (AIB) and was named a Fellow of the Responsible Research in Business and Management (RRBM) Association. Locally, she will be joining the board of the Economic Club of Minnesota.

“It is a tremendous honor to be elected to the AIB board and to the Economic Club of Minnesota board, and to be named as a Fellow by RRBM,” she says. “These are outstanding organizations, and I can’t wait to get more involved with them.”

As the Vice President Program-elect for AIB, Zaheer will serve on the organization’s executive board, where she will help set the overall direction of AIB and develop specific policies to achieve that vision. AIB is the apex association of international business thought-leaders worldwide, dedicated to promoting impactful international research and improving business education, policy, and practice.

Each member of AIB’s board is appointed through a rigorous nomination and election process. Zaheer will serve from August 1, 2023, to July 31, 2026.

RRBM is an organization Zaheer helped co-found that is dedicated to inspiring, encouraging, and supporting credible high-impact research in the business and management disciplines. Zaheer was selected as an inaugural fellow “to recognize those who have made an exceptional contribution to RRBM’s purpose, research, and impact.”

The Economic Club of Minnesota “provides a high-profile, non-partisan platform for national and international leaders in business, government, and public policy to present their ideas on how Minnesota can better compete in the global economy and how America can most effectively provide world leadership on economic and strategic issues.”

Additionally, Zaheer will continue to serve as chair of the Board of Directors for the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Her term runs through December 31, 2023.
