For her contributions to the Minnesota Career Development Association (MCDA) and the professional development of career coaches across the state, Rebecca Dordel, associate director of career development in the Undergraduate Program, was selected as the 2022 recipient of the Marty Dockman Merit Award. The award goes to members who "have made a significant difference in the lives of clients or made a significant contribution to MCDA."

Dordel has been an active MCDA Board of Trustee member and is the chair of the Communications and Social Media Committee. In announcing the award, the MCDA stated, "she has made significant and important contributions in managing social media efforts, managing the website upgrade in 2021, and she has done significant editing and updating of content on the website."

During the last three years at the Carlson School, Dordel has provided career coaching to hundreds of students, including Kelly Yang, '21 BSB. A thoughtful and experienced coach, Dordel approaches her work with students in a way that meets students wherever they are on their career development journey, values their experiences, and equips them with the confidence and resources to reach their career-related goals.
