The Carlson School commissioned MBA student Laura Johnson to explore the idea of “Business as a Force for Good” and depict her findings on canvas. Follow Laura’s journey as she talks with fellow students, faculty, and professional colleagues to create a mural that visualizes how we are connected with one another and our communities.

The three original negotiators of the North American Free Trade Agreement, Carla Hills, Former U.S. Trade Representative, Jamie Serra Puche, Former Secretary of Trade and Industry of Mexico, and John Weekes, Former Chief Canadian NAFTA Negotiator participated in a panel discussion at the Carlson School about a variety of topics including the largest misconceptions surrounding NAFTA.
Pat Smith - A Pursuit of Persistence
After multiple runner-up finishes in national wrestling events, including the 2016 Olympic trials, Carlson School alumni Pat Smith, '17 MA-HRIR, is representing the United States in the Greco-Roman wrestling world championship this year. Smith, who wrestled at the University of Minnesota, is also working to earn a spot on the 2020 Olympic team.

Alumni Michael Ramlet Dinds Success in D.C.
Michael Ramlet, an alumni of the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management, started Morning Consult in Washington, D.C. with $30,000 in angel capital and built it into a media and technology company with more than $10 million in revenue. Ramlet says Carlson School students need to explore as many new opportunities and people as possible during the first few years after graduation.
