MBA & Healthcare Administration
Be The Healthcare Leader of Tomorrow
Healthcare is one of the fastest-growing industries in the United States and throughout the world. Combining business acumen with a strong foundation in health administration will leave you poised for a leadership position in a powerful and ever-expanding industry sector. And, as you study for an MBA and MHA together, you'll leverage the expertise and community offered in the Carlson School's Medical Industry Leadership Institute, a launchpad for many up-and-coming healthcare leaders.
Both located on the Minneapolis campus, the MHA-MBA offers students to complete both degrees in three years. To complete in this time frame students will carry a very demanding course load. After acceptance into the dual degree program, students meet with both their MHA and MBA advisors to be sure that their study plan satisfies both degree requirements.
More Information About MHA-MBA
Candidates must apply for both programs and be admitted separately in order to pursue the dual degree. Candidates may apply for both programs at the same time or current MHA students may apply to the Full-Time MBA Program during their first year of study in the MHA program.
MBA Application Dates - Fall Start
Round | Submission Deadlines | Decision Notification |
---|---|---|
Round 1 | October 1 | November 15 |
Round 2 | December 1 | February 1 |
Round 3 | February 1 | March 15 |
Round 4 | April 1 | May 15 |
Deadlines that occur on a weekend or holiday are extended through the next business day. We will review applications beyond our final round deadline on a case by case basis.
GRE/GMAT: Students who are applying concurrently for a Full-time MBA/dual degree program in which the respective partner program does not require a standardized test this year can apply for a GMAT/GRE waiver. Applying for the waiver does not guarantee it will be granted and the Admissions Committee may still require the applicant to complete MBA Math, submit additional materials or take the GMAT/GRE. Receiving a waiver does not guarantee admission.
Both the MBA and MHA programs offer robust career services to help you achieve your career goal. Graduates go on to use their specialized toolkits as leaders within healthcare organizations, but also in government positions, the pharmaceutical industry, and finance.
MHA-MBA students pay the tuition and fees at the school through which they are registered each semester. Scholarships are awarded separately by each program and are applied when a student is enrolled in that designated program.
All applicants admitted to Carlson are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships.
