Keynote speaker, Julie Gilbert Newrai, 2012 Minnesota Cup winner, Founder and CEO of PreciouStatus and WOLF Means Business, shared her entrepreneurial journey with inspirational words and complementing multimedia.

Carlson School of Management's First Tuesday Event was welcomed by many at the McNamara Alumni Center on August 13. The networking proved successful as Carlson alumni and business leaders slowly made their way to a seated meal.

Keynote speaker, Julie Gilbert Newrai, 2012 Minnesota Cup winner, Founder and CEO of PreciouStatus and WOLF Means Business, shared her entrepreneurial journey with inspirational words and complementing multimedia.

Starting from a small town in South Dakota, Julie was taught the importance of an education and support group at an early age by her entrepreneurial parents. Sharing her core values with examples from her youth through the early years of her career, she reminded the audience the importance of treating others the way you wish to be treated including the power of looking someone in the eyes and giving them your time.

The most recent leg of her entrepreneurial journey began after her determination and faith were challenged. The result of her frustration was a new company, PreciouStatus, a tool to share instant updates about loved ones in child care, elder cares, hospitals or other care centers. In 2012, Julie was awarded the Minnesota Cup for her breakthrough business idea.
