Isern Biotechnology is a chemical synthesis company that aims to produce high-value specialty chemicals that are economical and sustainably sourced, while revitalizing economically challenged communities in Northern Minnesota. By using the power of genetic engineering and biotechnology, Isern is able to synthesize products such as Tyrian Purple, a rare, natural material valued for both textiles and development of organic semiconductors. Additionally, precursors used in producing Tyrian Purple have significant value to other industries such as the biopharmaceutical industry.
