Medicaid spends $5B on non-emergency transportation every year and yet 3.5 million patients still miss medical appointments (25% due to transportation). Patients told Hitch Health they do not want to call to schedule a ride, be placed on hold, and waste their valuable cell phone minutes. So they developed Hitch Health, a proprietary technology software (patent pending) that sits in between the EHR and a ride-service. The software filters appointment data to determine who will receive a ride offer and automatically sends a patient ride offer through SMS texts. The process is completely automated and in the control of the patients. Hitch Health is both woman and veteran led.
