Vlad Griskevicius
About
Vladas Griskevicius serves as the Associate Dean of the Undergraduate Program at the Carlson School and is the Carlson Family Foundation Chaired Professor of Marketing.
With an extensive background in the science of motivation, emotion, and social influence, he has published over 100 scholarly works and is co-author of The Rational Animal – a book about how our deep-seated ancestral motivations shape modern behavior. Many of these articles have been featured on the Discovery Channel, the Economist, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, BBC News, and TIME magazine. He holds degrees in economics and psychology from the University of California and a PhD in Psychology from Arizona State University.
Vlad previously served as Chair of the Marketing Department and as Associate Editor of the Journal of Marketing Research. He has received numerous awards for his teaching, research, and service, including the Outstanding Teacher Award and Outstanding Service Award at the Carlson School, the Best Article Award from the Journal of Consumer Research, and multiple Mid-Career and Early Career Awards for Distinguished Scientific Contribution. His life goal is to raise his four kids – and all the students he encounters – to be good human beings who never stop learning because life never stops teaching.
