Aks Zaheer is Professor and Curtis L. Carlson Chair in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He earned his PhD from the Sloan School of Management at MIT, an undergraduate degree in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India. After his MBA, Aks worked in the industry for eleven years, and five years in the consumer products industry in Nigeria.
He was the winner of the Curtis Cup in 2006 for outstanding teaching in the Carlson Executive MBA program, MBA Core Teacher of the Year in 1995, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2011, and awarded Excellence in Teaching awards from the Carlson School in 2004 and 2009. He was named one of the World’s 50 Best B-School Professors by Poets and Quants in 2012 and commended for teaching excellence in Business Week’s Guide to the 50 Top Business Schools 1997.
