The two years at Carlson has truly been a transformational journey. I’ve had the opportunity to experience and learn things that I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise.
After my undergrad in Engineering, I decided to pursue a career in Data Analytics and joined a company called Mu Sigma. During my time there, I had the opportunity to work across several teams – Analytics, Sales & Solution Design. I spent a year in the solution design team understanding client problems and developing high-level solutions based on our company’s capabilities. Looking back, this was the favorite part of my stint at Mu Sigma because I got opportunities to work on very interesting problems for clients from different industries. This is when I realized that I would love to do the same kind of work on a bigger scale and a formal education in business seemed to be the right step to get me there.
I chose Carlson for a couple of reasons. The Twin cities is home to several Fortune 500 companies and this proximity to employers was crucial in my decision. The second most important factor was the small class size and collaborative culture of the Carlson community. My interactions with admissions team and student ambassadors during the application process reflected the culture of the school and I knew I wanted to be a part of this community.
My Experience at Carlson
After moving to Minnesota my definition of “cold” sure has changed! I now understand why the immigration officer asked me, not once, not twice but thrice whether I was sure about moving to Minnesota! But I’ve learned to embrace the winter and thanks to my friends, I’ve discovered how much fun cross-country skiing can be!
The two years at Carlson has truly been a transformational journey. I’ve had the opportunity to experience and learn things that I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise. And the best part is, along the way I’ve been fortunate enough to meet some amazing people and make friendships that will last a lifetime.
