Your Story

I studied Communications and Exercise Health Sciences at University of California Santa Barbara. I have always been interested in how people make decisions, process information, and interact with one another. My work background has been mainly in Marketing, for a variety of industries; Food, Fashion and Wellness. I am also a certified Yoga Instructor, and taught at CorePower Yoga for two years.

Why Carlson?

I decided to go back to school because I really love to learn and thought it would be a great step to the next phase of my career. Carlson was by far my top choice. The smaller class size, the wide interests of the students I met with, and the extremely involved faculty and staff made Carlson feel more like a community than just a school. I had an idea of what I wanted to do after graduating, but was not completely sure. Carlson felt like a great place to explore potential new opportunities, learn tools and skills I would need for my career, and develop a network of friends and supporters.

Living in the Twin Cities

I was from the Minneapolis area originally, but had moved away, to California and then New York, for school and work. Returning to Minneapolis made me realize how much I enjoy this city. You have all the benefits of living in a metropolitan area -great food, concerts, night life, art scene - but are always just a few footsteps away from the lakes, forests and natural beauty. There is a balance here you do not get many other places, and it seeps into the culture as well. The career opportunities are amazing as well, you do not always realize how many large organizations and small businesses are built in Minneapolis.
