“I knew that I wanted a career in which I could leverage my quantitative and analytical skills, but I wasn’t sure exactly which route to take."
My Story
As a recently-graduated undergrad entering the workforce in May of 2009, I was staring at a bleak employment outlook and a badly damaged economy. I took a chance by taking a job outside of my functional area of study because I liked the company. I worked my way up at Cargill for the next three years, learning about the food industry, until I decided I wanted a functional change to be closer to the business. I knew that I wanted a career in which I could leverage my quantitative and analytical skills, but I wasn’t sure exactly which route to take. It was through my MBA studies and networking that I found the career that would marry my passion for understanding consumer behavior with my analytical skill set: Consumer Insights.
Why Carlson?
I decided first that I needed a full-time MBA program that would give me hands-on experience in order to make this functional transition. Secondly, I wanted a program with solid career prospects. The Twin Cities are such an amazing place to live – we have a great quality of life here at a comparatively low cost. Carlson offers unparalleled connections to Minnesota’s many Fortune 500 companies. For me, it was the best choice, and I’m extremely happy with the decision I made.
