Funding Your MBA
Full-Time MBA Funding
The Admissions Committee considers academics, work experience, interview scores, and diversity when it comes to determining merit-based awards. Awards can range from $5,000 to full tuition awards with annual stipends.
Full-Time MBA Scholarship Opportunities
Between funding from the Dean of the Carlson School and generous support from the community, merit-based scholarship opportunities are available for Full-Time MBA students. Corporate benefactors include 3M, Ameriprise, Deloitte, Donaldson Company, H.B. Fuller, Hubbard Broadcasting, and Mairs & Power. Individual benefactors are often successful alums of the program who feel strongly about giving back to the Carlson School by helping to ease the financial burden of future MBA students. The criteria for awards varies from preferences for women or students of color to students studying in specific areas or international students to general awards that apply to all students.

Finance Leaders of Tomorrow: A Funds Enterprise Scholarship
Our long term success and our focus on sustainability has led to the creation of a new scholarship opportunity for graduate-level finance students who want to join the Funds Enterprise. We want to bring new faces and new voices into the investment business, and thus have established Finance Leaders of Tomorrow: A Funds Enterprise Scholarship. We are hoping that students from all different backgrounds will join us, to learn from our world class Finance Faculty, and to explore careers in Finance and Asset Management. Our students today benefit from the success and contribution of the students who have worked on the Funds over the past two decades. We want you to join us, and help to create opportunities for new students for years to come.
Our first cohort of three recipients are joining the Carlson School in 2022, two within the Full-Time MBA program and one within the MS Finance program. We are thrilled to offer:
- Full tuition for the entirety of each program
- Mentorship from our extensive network for academic, personal, and career success
- Meaningful connection and networking opportunities with our clients and advisory board members

Military Fellowship
The Carlson School offers 16 funds that provide numerous awards to active military and veterans who join the MBA program. One example is the Gatens/Benson Military Veterans Fellowship which was created by a Vietnam veteran and MBA alum in memory of two friends, Martin J. Benson, a Marine pilot who was killed flying medevacs in Vietnam and Daniel M. Gatens, who also served in Vietnam and died at an early age.
