Global Business Student Association Club at Carlson

I’m a second year MBA student due to graduate in two months and any account of my MBA journey is incomplete without a talk about GBSA. GBSA stands for Global Business Students Association. It is a student led and managed club with a mission to provide a global mindset to current students. It takes a two pronged approach for doing it – by organizing social & cultural events such as celebrating international festivals and by organizing talks and sessions with professionals with experience in the global business arena.  For example during my time at Carlson, GBSA has organized a session with Cargill’s VP of Corporate Brand and Digital Communications, Paul Hillen, a panel discussion with a focus on doing business in Africa and several cultural events.

I consider leading GBSA an integral part of my Carlson experience. It has given me an opportunity to hone my leadership and project management skills but above all it has made me a more informed global citizen. Over the course of the past two years, I have observed that GBSA’s events have always been over-subscribed which tells a lot about people at Carlson and their willingness to celebrate diversity and learn something new.

Here are the some of the pictures from the past GBSA events:
