MBA & MS in Business Analytics Dual Degree

The Carlson School's MBA/Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) Dual Degree Program shapes in-demand business leaders who leverage big data to identify business opportunities. The nationally-ranked MBA program provides a rigorous, relevant, global business education while the Masters of Science in Business Analytics imparts the analytical know-how professionals need to harvest, process, and analyze data to extract important insights. This degree is STEM-Designated.

The MBA-MSBA Dual Degree will add an additional summer for an internship and one additional semester of study. Students can apply to both programs at the same time or in their first year of their MBA. Under this study plan, students begin their Full-Time MBA coursework in the fall semester of year one.

Credit Distribution

To complete in this time frame students will carry a very demanding course load, but with a credit reduction benefit of a dual degree program.  At the end of three years, students will have completed 89 credits.

Application Deadlines

Candidates can apply for both programs using one application, however, they must be admitted to the dual-degree program by both programs in order to pursue the dual degree.

Deadlines on a weekend or holiday are extended through the next business day. We will review applications beyond our final round deadline on a case-by-case basis.

GRE/GMAT: Due to the differing admissions criteria for each program, we are unable of offer a GMAT/GRE waiver for the dual degree program.

MBA-MSBA students pay the tuition and fees at the school through which they are registered each semester. Scholarships are awarded separately by each program and are applied when a student is enrolled in that designated program.

All applicants admitted to Carlson are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships. 

For an MBA, you will want to look at the per semester cost. For an MSBA, you will be factoring in the total tuition. Note that the total tuition cost for the MBA-MSBA Dual Degree will be about $35,000 different for resident than a non-resident. For both programs, all applicants admitted to Carlson are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships.
