Orientation

We start you on your career development journey before your program begins. You’ll receive career-related tasks to complete once you’re admitted into your program. These tasks prepare you to take full advantage of the career services and resources available during your time here.

As part of your program orientation, you’ll meet our career coaches and dive deeper into the career-related tasks you completed.

Job search and networking opportunities

You’ll have a variety of opportunities to network with alumni and meet employers to find an internship or job. Here are some major ways we create occasions for you to meet company representatives in addition to inviting them into your classrooms.

  • On-campus recruiting - Attend information sessions and interviews on campus with companies holding positions for Carlson School students.
  • Resume books - Sign up to include your resume in a custom resume book for organizations looking for Carlson students with specific skills, industry interests, or geographic preferences.
  • Networking receptions - Connect with business professionals, alumni, and peers to identify potential employment opportunities and learn about your industries and companies of interest.
  • Employer relations program - Meet with our office’s employer relations team to learn about the companies they’re creating connections with and what upcoming positions there may be at those companies.
  • Career treks - Visit potential employers at their company’s location to explore careers in Minneapolis and across the U.S.
  • Job and networking boards - Access various online job search and networking platforms to find local, national, and international career opportunities, and to network with alumni and employers.
