Biography
Tom Torralbas is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the Carlson School of Management, where he teaches Business Analytics with a focus on applied, data-driven decision making. In addition to BA3051, he will be teaching Marketing Channels MKTG 4061 this year.
His courses integrate tools such as R and Excel and cover topics including data visualization, regression, A/B testing, and optimization. He emphasizes translating analytical results into clear business recommendations. A central component of his teaching is a multi-module, team-based project in which student groups represent distinct sales regions and apply course concepts to make region-specific decisions using real-world data.
In addition to his full time teaching role, Tom and his wife are parents of 2 daughters and grandparents of 3. Tom is also a private pilot, flying out of KFCM (Flying Cloud). He recently served as President/Owner of DATAcpg LLC consulting, Principal Consultant at Circana (IRI), and held leadership roles in sales and marketing at PepsiCo, Conagra Brands, and American Home Products.
