International Experience
Full-MBA students explore the global business climate through on-campus internationalized courses, short-term Global Enrichment trips, or term-length Global Immersions. Global perspective and cross-cultural competence are keys to any contemporary business toolkit. Students acquire a new appreciation for the diversity of the global marketplace by engaging in new business practices and collaborating with professionals trained in different philosophies and cultures.

- Participating in a Carlson Global Institute Graduate Student Program
- Global Enrichment Programs -- 1 or 2 week, faculty-led abroad program
- Global Immersion Programs -- Exchange program at a partner business school for a partial or full semester
- Participating in the MILI 6997 Global Valuation Lab Program in the Bay Area
- Completing one of the following 4-credit "glocal" courses taught on-campus or online
- IDSC 6465 Emerging Technologies and Digital Transformation: Changes to Work, Capability Sourcing, and Innovation
- MGMT 6305 International Environment of Business
- MKTG 6072 International Marketing
- SCO 6081 Global Operations Strategy
Global Enrichment Programs
These intensive study abroad programs allow you to explore many facets of a key business topic, expanding on a foundation started here at the Carlson School and continued abroad. Programs are taught entirely in English and offered between academic semesters. Past students have visited local and multinational firms in diverse locations such as Sweden, Japan, Australia, Ghana, and more. Graduate Fellowships are available for Global Enrichment sessions.
Global Immersion Programs
Global immersion programs give students the chance to dive deeply into a culture and study alongside other international students at partner universities throughout Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania. All courses are taught in English, and you'll find a range of classes from both the host university's full catalog and more specialized business offerings. Full-Time MBA students can study abroad for the partial or full semester in Spring of Year 2 of the program. For more detailed information, please see the Education Abroad page. Graduate Fellowships are available for these unique education experiences in Switzerland, Japan, New Zealand, Germany, China, Costa Rica, and more.
