Hello everyone!
Welcome to the official CoMIS 2026 Competition page! Here, you will find all the essential details for this year's event. We are thrilled to welcome both new and returning teams to the vibrant Twin Cities metropolitan area. Our organizing team has worked hard to ensure that this year's competition is both innovative and unforgettable. We look forward to providing you with an exceptional experience and can't wait to meet all the participants!
This year, we are happy to offer a completely redesigned competition format. Driven by an innovative new scoring system, CoMIS 2026 is built to provide unparalleled transparency to the judging process and offer robust, face-to-face feedback opportunities. We have engineered this year's edition to be the fairest, most educational CoMIS ever!
Building on the foundation of previous years, the 2026 competition will feature two cases:
For each case, teams will be divided into 3 divisions of 3 - 4 teams each.
- The 8-Hour Case (Case I): This fast-paced case will challenge teams to collaborate efficiently and solve a complex business problem while competing within their respective divisions. Placement in this case will account for approximately one-third of a team's overall tournament points.
The 24-Hour Case (Case II): Following the 8-hour challenge, the divisions will be shuffled and the teams will tackle a second case that requires them to develop an innovative solution to position the client for success amidst today's unpredictable business environment. Because this is the ultimate test of endurance and strategy, placement in this case carries double the weight, accounting for the remaining two-thirds of the tournament points.
After the conclusion of all Case II Preliminary Round presentations, scores will be tallied, and the three teams with the most tournament points will advance directly to the final round. Additionally, the four teams ranked 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th in points will compete in a Lightning Round, where judges will select one top-performing team to join the final round.
- The Final Round: Finalist teams will present again to determine the winners of CoMIS. This round will test participants' ability to defend their logic and work under pressure.
At the closing ceremony, judges will recognize and award the four finalist teams, celebrating their hard work and achievements with special prizes. We will continue updating this page with important information, including registration deadlines, case details, schedules, and participating teams. Please stay tuned! We are incredibly excited to share this experience with all of you and look forward to an outstanding competition. Best of luck to everyone, and see you soon!
Sincerely,
Logan Truong, Director of Competition
