Co-Curricular Programs for Undergraduate Students
Learning about innovation and entrepreneurship extends well beyond the classroom. The Holmes Center connects students and aspiring entrepreneurs with the resources needed to develop themselves and their new ventures.
The Holmes Center hosts and organizes a broad range of internships, fellowships, speaker events, clinics, and competitions, that engage students and alumni with the entrepreneurial business community. These events and opportunities inspire students and enable them to become a part of the Twin Cities startup ecosystem.

Apply for $100–$3,000 grants to build a prototype or pilot that shows the potential impact of your innovation. Open to projects from UMN research labs, clubs, courses, and beyond, the MVP Challenge helps student innovators turn concepts into reality in three divisions: digital, physical and social.
Experiential Courses for Undergraduate Students
Entrepreneurship is no longer viewed as an innate talent held by only a small group of trailblazers. Rather, it is a teachable process, mindset, and set of creative problem-solving skills that are becoming increasingly essential for business and success. It is best learned by doing.
The Holmes Center develops unique experiential courses in which students create, launch, and operate real products and businesses that address meaningful problems. Students learn to persevere through ambiguity, adversity, and outright failure. They develop essential skills that enable them to creatively solve real problems, lead teams, and build enduring businesses.
