Reserve a Space
The Carlson School has several types of rooms and spaces available for academic courses, studying and internal events. These spaces are categorized as either departmental spaces, which are managed by the Carlson School’s Building and Event Services or as general purpose spaces, which is scheduled through the University’s Office of Classroom Management.
Carlson School Building and Event Services schedules the following departmental spaces:
- 3M (1-115)
- Carlson School Atrium
- Executive Center Suite Classrooms.
These spaces are available to Carlson School and University of Minnesota Departments only.
Unfortunately, we are unable to reserve space to Non-University of Minnesota groups.
Carlson School departmental spaces are not scheduled on weekends or evenings unless the event is sponsored by a Carlson School department and a Carlson School staff member is on-site for the entire event. See General Building Information with regard to the building access levels for various groups (public, university, restricted). Departmental spaces are not available for reservations associated with non-Carlson School student organization activities.
The Executive Center is exclusively for executive or graduate-level activities with priority given to Carlson School Executive MBA and Executive Education programs. Executive Center spaces may be requested within a four-month window of the event date. All rooms have a rental fee.
The Office of Classroom Management (OCM) manages the reservations for general purpose classrooms in both Carlson School and Hanson Hall buildings.
Credit classes for degree programs have scheduling priority, but general purpose classrooms become available for events and meetings after the credit class schedule for the upcoming semester is complete.
Weekend Custodial Fees
If you reserve a general classroom on the weekend, an additional custodial fee may be charged by Facilities Management. Please contact FM at 612-624-2900 for details.
Reserving an OCM-managed General Purpose Classroom
Room rental fees are for University of Minnesota entities only, as reservations are exclusive for Carlson School and University of Minnesota Departments only.
Reservations for Monday through Friday, with start time during business hours of 7am – 5pm, may be requested within a four-month window of the event date.
Please include equipment set up and take down time needed in event reservation time request. Weekend and evening reservations are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
If approved, Large-scale events with attendees of 150pp or more, may require additional security (U Police or Security Monitor) to be contracted for the duration of the event.
