What was your initial reason or motivation for pursuing an MS in Supply Chain Management?

My motivation for pursuing a Master of Science in Supply Chain Management is driven by my passion for continuous learning and the pursuit of new challenges, both personally and professionally. I have aspired to get a master’s degree, though the timing and area of study were initially uncertain. This program represents an ideal fit for my aspirations, providing the advanced knowledge and skills necessary to continue to excel in this dynamic and complex domain.

Why did you choose the Carlson School?

I selected the Carlson School due to several compelling factors: the condensed nature of the program, the strong sense of camaraderie within the cohort, and the opportunity to learn from distinguished faculty. Additionally, the program’s flexibility, which allows for a blend of in-person and online/hybrid learning, enables me to maintain a balanced approach to work, life, and academic commitments. This combination of rigorous academics and adaptable scheduling makes the Carlson School an ideal choice for my professional and personal development.

What has been or was your most valuable Carlson School experience or less so far?

Reflecting on my experience at the Carlson School, one of the most valuable opportunities was during the fall semester’s Managing Supply Chain Operations course with Susan Meyer-Goldstein. The course culminated in applying our first-semester learnings to real-life scenarios, specifically with the client Second Harvest Heartland. This experience was particularly enriching as it allowed us to immediately apply our knowledge, especially within the non-profit sector. We gained insights into their unique challenges and shared best practices from our diverse professional backgrounds, which were applicable for them to pursue. This hands-on application of theoretical concepts significantly enhanced my understanding and appreciation of supply chain management in a real-world context.

My experience at the Carlson School has significantly bolstered my confidence in aspiring to be a supply chain leader. Leveraging my career coach post-program has further clarified my career path, enhancing my ability to network and position myself for future opportunities.
