Meet the Minnesota Carlson community and learn about the experiences and career connections we offer.

What was your initial reason or motivation for pursuing a Master of Science in Supply Chain Management?

I’m proactive and motivated by solving real-world problems. Working as a nursing assistant during COVID and later as a teacher showed me how disruptions impact daily life and communities. These experiences sparked my interest in the systems behind the scenes. Supply chain management allows me to use my strengths in collaboration, process improvement and adaptability. I am determined to develop supply chains that are resilient, sustainable and responsible, ultimately serving people ethically.

How did being part of Minnesota Carlson’s broader business ecosystem — spanning the Twin Cities community, local industries, and global partners — shape your experience in the Master of Science in Supply Chain Management program?

My most valuable Carlson experience has been being part of a broader ecosystem that extends well beyond the classroom. From day one, I recognized how deeply connected the program is to the Twin Cities community, local industries and global partners. These connections created opportunities to engage with real-world challenges, learn directly from industry leaders and apply my skills in meaningful ways. Equally impactful have been the people. Faculty, peers and professionals consistently encourage curiosity, collaboration and growth. This environment has challenged me to think bigger and step confidently into new spaces. Being surrounded by such a driven and supportive network has shaped both my graduate experience and the leader I continue to grow into.

How has your Carlson experience helped you change your career path and get to where you are?

Joining the Air National Guard marked a turning point in my career, giving me firsthand exposure to logistics and strengthening my decision to pursue a supply chain career. Carlson helped transform that momentum into a clear professional direction. Through meaningful conversations with peers, faculty, alumni and industry professionals, I gained valuable insight into diverse career paths and where I could create the greatest impact. These interactions deepened both my confidence and curiosity, allowing me to approach opportunities with genuine excitement and purpose. Today, I am more intentional about my trajectory and energized by the opportunities ahead in a field where I can continue solving complex problems and growing as a leader.
