SAN FRANCISCO CHAPTER
In October, the San Francisco Alumni Chapter hosted its fifth-annual San Francisco Fall Social at EPIC Steak. About 100 alumni from the Bay Area met, along with students, to network and hear from Assistant Dean of MBA and MS Programs Phil Miller, ’97 MBA.
GOLD SOIREE
Over 100 Gophers of the Last Decade gathered on October 19 to kick off the Carlson School’s Homecoming festivities. They celebrated the night in style at the Mansion at Uptown, enjoying the opportunity to reconnect with fellow young alumni and Carlson School seniors.
HOMECOMING PARADE WATCH PARTY
The Carlson School celebrated Homecoming again this year with the annual Parade Watch Party. Alumni, friends, and family all gathered for food and activities on the Armory lawn before cheering on our Carlson students and Dean Zaheer in the parade.
CARLSON WOMEN CONNECT
This November, more than 100 women from the Twin Cities business community gathered for a continuation of the Carlson Women Connect series. Alumnae and friends met at Windows on Minnesota for a networking luncheon, and heard from keynote speaker Sally Smith before her retirement as the President and CEO of Buffalo Wild Wings.
NEW YORK ALUMNI CHAPTER
On November 15, alumni in New York gathered at West 3rd Common in Greenwich Village. Forty alumni were able to gather for a casual evening of socializing and networking.
SEATTLE WINTER ALUMNI EVENT
Numerous alumni reconnected in Seattle in December to welcome students visiting for their Seattle MBA trek. The social event was hosted at Aqua by El Gaucho.
BEST BUY CHAPTER
On October 24, Professor and James D. Watkins Chair in Marketing Mark Bergen visited the Best Buy campus to discuss “What’s New @ the U in Pricing.” During this engaging presentation, the group discussed pricing challenges and opportunities and reinforced Bergen’s saying that “everyone is welcome in the house of pricing!”
3M CHAPTER
The 3M Corporate Chapter had a busy season of faculty presentations. Assistant Professor of Information and Decision Sciences Gordon Burtch and Curtis L. Carlson Professor of Industrial Relations John Kammeyer-Mueller each gave interactive talks related to their research and experience in their respective fields.
UNITEDHEALTH GROUP CHAPTER
Members of the University of Minnesota and Carlson School alumni networks at UnitedHealth Group gathered to celebrate homecoming during a breakfast networking reception in October. Alumni Association President and CEO Lisa Lewis delivered brief remarks and Goldy Gopher even made an appearance.
LAND O’LAKES CHAPTER
On September 14, the Land O’Lakes Gophers chapter hosted its first happy hour event. The group is in its first year and has more than 130 members from its sprawling headquarters in Arden Hills, Minnesota, to manufacturing locations in California. The group looks forward to hosting volunteer events and partnering with University of Minnesota programs in 2018.
