Biography
Chundan Lan is a Ph.D. candidate in Accounting at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Her research examines the consequences of regulatory changes, the role of information intermediaries, and employees’ nonpecuniary incentives. She is particularly interested in how regulatory environments and human motivations shape professional behavior and affect information quality in capital markets. She has taught Introduction to Financial Reporting at the University of Minnesota.
Chundan earned her M.S. in Accounting (Business Analytics track) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and her B.A. in Accounting from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked as an equity research intern at Guotai Junan Securities and as a regulatory research intern at the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, where she gained practical experience in capital markets, financial analysis, and regulatory institutions. Outside of research, she enjoys playing pickleball and badminton, reading, and exploring new cuisines.
