Newton Guillen is the Vice President and General Manager of Best Buy’s Exclusive Brands private label team. He is responsible for the strategy, management, and execution of Best Buy’s private label business which includes teams in five global offices, product offerings across multiple product categories, and a portfolio of owned and licensed brands.

Newton is an experienced product development leader with a broad background leading global software and product development teams in a variety of technologies across several industries.

Newton joined Best Buy in 2011 as the Director of Global Engineering, leading the Exclusive Brands global engineering organization.  Earlier in his career, he spent multiple years in product development and engineering leadership roles at Dolby Laboratories, Voxx International, and Thomson Multimedia —including a two-year international assignment in Hong Kong, China.

Originally from Panama, Newton lives with his wife and daughter in Plymouth, Minnesota.  He earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University and an M.B.A. from Indiana University, Kelley School of Business.
