About

Maggie Tomas is the Executive Director of the Carlson School of Management Business Career Center. Maggie has been career coaching students and a wide range of professionals for nearly two decades. In her role, she leads a team of 23 as they provide personalized career advising and a wide range of career resources to current students and alumni.

Maggie believes that a thriving community needs workers who are motivated and healthy. She is the creator of the MotiCode career assessment and framework, which helps leaders identify their motivational type and that of their colleagues. The MotiCode platform is utilized by Fortune 500 companies, creative agencies, and large nonprofit organizations.

In 2021, Maggie was named a Notable Leader in Higher Education by the Twin Cities Business Magazine. She serves as the current President of the Career Services and Employers Alliance organization and is an active volunteer in her community. Maggie earned her bachelor's degree from California State University, Northridge, her master's degree in Psychology-Career Counseling from Antioch University, and she holds multiple certifications in yoga and mindfulness.
