About
Denise Avink is the senior director of compensation for the Aeronautics Systems sector of Northrop Grumman. In this capacity she is responsible for aligning compensation solutions with business needs across an employee population of hourly, professional and executive employees. Her objective is to balance labor costs with market competitiveness and attractiveness to employees. She is an internal consultant on compensation matters and enjoys helping employees understand their pay and how it is one component of their Northrop Grumman total rewards package.
Denise has held leadership roles in executive compensation, organization effectiveness and as an HR business leader in a few organizations across the company. She spent nine years at what is now Space Systems in Redondo Beach, CA, working a variety of human resources roles of increasing responsibility. Denise earned a master’s degree in human resources and industrial relations from the University of Minnesota and a certificate in human capital and effective organizations from the University of Southern California.
