The combination of academic growth, industry insight, and coaching support has prepared me to move forward in my career with purpose.
How did being part of Minnesota Carlson’s broader business ecosystem—spanning the Twin Cities community, local industries, and global partners—shape your experience in the Master of Science in Supply Chain Management program?
Being a part of the broader business ecosystem at Carlson was instrumental in shaping my experience in the program. Every course incorporated guest speakers from leading companies within the Twin Cities, giving us insight into real world supply chain challenges and career paths. There were also opportunities to engage with the community outside of the classroom. For me, the Women in Supply Chain event was especially meaningful for networking and hearing how successful women in this field balance leadership and life.
How has your Carlson experience helped you change your career path and get to where you are?
My Carlson experience has given me the confidence to pursue the next stage of my career in the medical device and healthcare supply chain sector. Through valuable exposure to a wide range of industries, I developed a stronger understanding of where my interests align. I have benefited from Carlson’s ongoing career services including coaching, resume support, and interview preparation. Knowing that these resources continue through the lifetime of my career is priceless. The combination of academic growth, industry insight, and coaching support has prepared me to move forward in my career with purpose.
What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into Carlson’s Master of Science in Supply Chain Management program?
My advice for potential applicants is to take time to reflect on how your career experiences connect to supply chain, even if you do not work directly in the field today. Some of the strongest insights I gained in the program came from peers whose backgrounds were outside of traditional supply chain roles. I also recommend engaging current students or alumni to understand the culture and show sincere interest in the program. Lastly, I found that strong letters of recommendation from colleagues or mentors can help speak to your character and make a meaningful difference in the application process.
