In these unprecedented times, real-time business research is becoming more and more important as we continue to grapple with the impact of this global pandemic. Since our world has been turned upside down, Carlson School faculty members have used their expertise as a force for good as we search for answers to a number of difficult questions.

This all-virtual edition of Discovery at Carlson focuses solely on COVID-19 and the many areas of business and society changed as a result. You'll learn about what it’s like to be a labor economist today, why a business school is tracking hospitalizations across the U.S., how the world looks now for international entrepreneurs, and more.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Carlson School faculty experts researched a myriad of aspects of the pandemic in real time. In this edition, you'll see how state and local governments dealt with the economic downturn, how that economic anxiety was worse for some individuals and groups than others, and how the Supply Chain and Operations Department shifted its research agendas and curriculum to help educate policymakers, media, and the public on how to address these issues.
